SCANI Meets with PSNI to Strengthen Community Partnership

The Sudanese Community Association in Northern Ireland (SCANI) recently held a constructive meeting with representatives of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation and supporting the Sudanese community following the recent events in Belfast.

During the meeting, SCANI presented a number of proposals aimed at improving community safety, enhancing communication, encouraging the reporting of hate crime, supporting victims, engaging young people, promoting community integration, and building stronger partnerships with public services.

SCANI also reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with PSNI and other partner organisations by sharing accurate information, supporting community awareness, promoting respect for the law, and encouraging positive engagement across the community.

The meeting was positive and forward-looking, with both parties expressing their commitment to continued dialogue and practical collaboration. SCANI looks forward to developing these proposals into meaningful initiatives that will help create a safer, more inclusive, and better-connected community for everyone in Northern Ireland.
