Community Solidarity: A Path Towards Unity in Northern Ireland
The people of Ardoyne have shown Northern Ireland what true neighbourliness looks like. After a local family was targeted in hate-filled incidents, residents came together to raise and donate £550 to the affected family — and extended further support to other residents caught up in the same events.
A Stand Against Intolerance
These grassroots acts of compassion are more than donations — they are a clear message that intolerance has no home in our neighbourhoods. Communities that stand together look after one another and refuse to be divided.
SCANI’s Commitment
This spirit of compassion reflects the values at the heart of the Sudanese Community Association Northern Ireland (SCANI). As the association’s newly appointed leadership, tasked by the General Assembly, begins its work, fostering unity and strengthening ties between all communities remains a top priority.
Together, grassroots action and community leadership can build a safer, more welcoming Northern Ireland for everyone. Learn more about SCANI and the projects we run.
