SCANI Executive Meets First Minister Michelle O’Neill

A representative of the Executive Committee of the Sudanese community met with the First Minister of Northern Ireland, Michelle O’Neill. The First Minister listened to an account of the very difficult days the Sudanese community has been through — the significant damage and losses suffered by its members, alongside fears for the future and a deep sense of insecurity.
Full Support for Affected Families
The First Minister affirmed her full support for, and sympathy with, the affected families. She stressed that what happened was not directed against migrants, but was a criminal act of deliberate vandalism — and that everyone found to have taken part will be held accountable under the law.
“Everyone Is Part of This Country”
Closing the meeting, the First Minister emphasised that everyone is part of this country, and that joint work and cooperation between all parts of society will continue in order to build a better future for all.
